R&B icons Ne-Yo and Akon are officially teaming up for a massive global tour, and fans of early 2000s music have plenty to celebrate.
Live Nation confirmed the joint trek, titled Nights Like This, with a teaser video shared on Instagram that instantly sparked excitement across social media. The tour promises a smooth, high-energy live experience built around the duo's era-defining hits and shared musical history.
According to Live Nation, the tour is designed as an "elevated live experience filled with timeless records and unforgettable moments." Tickets are expected to move fast, with artist presale starting Tuesday at 10 a.m. EST using the code NIGHTSLIKETHIS, followed by a general public sale on Friday.

The teaser video itself set the tone. Ne-Yo and Akon are shown crossing paths in a bar before playing billiards, with each scene shifting as their outfits and hit songs magically change.
The clip ends on a playful Western standoff where the two face each other dressed as cowboys, reaching for what looks like guns, only to reveal microphones at their belts instead.

Nights Like This Tour Brings 2000s R&B Back to Spotlight
The Nights Like This tour kicks off with a European leg that begins in Dublin on April 17 and wraps up in Lodz, Poland, on May 31. Along the way, Ne-Yo and Akon will perform in major cities including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm and Vienna.
The tour then heads to North America, starting June 17 in Vancouver before rolling through dozens of cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Major stops include Atlanta, Charlotte, Tampa, Toronto, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Los Angeles, where the tour closes with a high-profile show at the Intuit Dome on Aug. 21. Texas fans will see the duo hit Dallas on Aug. 8, Houston on Aug. 9 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, and Austin on Aug. 11.
Live Nation describes the shows as a dynamic back-and-forth between the two stars, with fans hearing classics like Ne-Yo's "Sexy Love" and Akon's "Smack That" performed in a shared set that celebrates both catalogs.
The announcement has already drawn emotional reactions from fans online.
One commenter summed up the mood by calling them "the 2000s Kings back."
Another wrote that this was "the best news to wake up to on a Tuesday morning."
Others didn't hide their urgency, with one fan joking they were "literally gonna fight for my life to get tickets."
Several more sharing messages like "I'm so ready for this one," "Can't wait for this combo" and "I'll be there," complete with heart and fire emojis.
Ne-Yo, a Grammy-winning artist known for his smooth vocals and heartfelt songwriting, rose to fame in the mid-2000s with hits that blended R&B and pop. Akon, whose global appeal and catchy hooks made him a dominant force in the same era, brings an equally deep catalog filled with chart-toppers and club anthems.
Beyond standard tickets, select VIP packages will be available, including options that feature a meet-and-greet with Akon and an autographed photo. Citi cardholders in the U.S. will also get early access during the presale window.
For fans who grew up singing along to these songs, the tour feels persona. Ne-Yo and Akon seem to understand that connection, shaping a tour that leans into memory while still feeling fresh.
